San Antonio ISD students, staff and families come together to help the SAISD community in many ways. Volunteers work to clean up a community garden and distribute food for the food bank.
More than 50 students, teachers and families gathered at Collins Garden Elementary for the school’s Spring Community Garden Cleanup. Volunteers arrived and got right to work, painting, digging, cutting back old plants and picking up trash to ready the school’s courtyard garden for spring. Along the way, they found some cute residents of the garden for a free science lesson.
In an impressive turnout, nearly 100 district staff and student volunteers from Jefferson High School, SAISD helped distribute food bundles to more than 200 families at Alamo Stadium. SAISD’s Family and Community Engagement Team and the Jefferson athletics department made it all possible!
