Southside ISD is getting more involved with the district’s surrounding community with town hall sessions and community class programs.
Southside ISD parents had a chance to attend classes in Auto Tech, Culinary, and Basic Computer Skills (clase bilingual).
The district-sponsored classes are held twice a week when they are in session, and all SISD families are invited to join!
Southside ISD is held a series of town hall meetings in different neighborhoods to bring the district closer to the community. During the first meeting at Sandy Oaks, district leaders discussed academic improvement, finances, safety and security protocols, communications, and parent and community classes. The community responded positively, with one resident stating that it was “clean and easy for the public to understand.”
The Superintendent expressed his appreciation for meeting community members and addressing their concerns. “It goes to show that the work of our students and staff is being appreciated by our community and I’m happy to see that,” said the Superintendent.
