A Cypress-Fairbanks ISD teenager has done great things as she prepares to enroll in a well-known college in the fall after earning her college degree and high school diploma.
When Sarah Olufemi-Dada received an acceptance letter from her chosen school, she said she couldn’t believe it.
She is enrolled at Stanford University on a full scholarship. But she acknowledged that getting there wasn’t simple.
To support her family, she had to juggle work, school, clubs, give up some extracurricular activities, and work numerous jobs. Olufemi-Dada claimed that the effort was worthwhile.
She earned an associate’s degree in science on Saturday from LoneStar College CyFair. She will graduate from high school the following week. That was made possible for her by a program called College Academy.
She will enroll at Stanford in the fall to pursue a career as a pioneer in customized medicine by studying computer science and biocomputational engineering. She emphasized that it is all paid for as the best aspect.
“Sometimes I just kind of stop and think like I really did it. OMG,” Olufemi-Dada exclaimed.
When it comes to what drove her to achieve so much, what was it? She said, “For my family, for my siblings, specifically.”
