Dabbs Elementary Students’ Genius Hour

Deer Park ISD

Deer Park ISD’s Dabbs Elementary School offers an exciting program for students to learn a new skill while taking a break from the normal school-day routine.  Every other Friday, second through fifth-graders participate in “Genius Hour”. The students are able to choose their specialty class, and they are grouped with other students that have similar interests. The classes offered include yoga, painting, baking, photography with iPads, coding, gardening, and more.  They attend the hour-long classes presented by several Dabbs teachers.
