Lackland ISD is an avid supporter of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, and is proud to offer a plethora of CTE courses for students.
CTE Month takes place every February and is organized by the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). The month shows the value and achievements of CTE programs, as well as to raise awareness for the opportunities available for students to gain skills that can be directly applied to their post-graduation careers. CTE courses focus on skills and careers that are in high demand and that are offered high wages to set their students up for the highest level of success possible.
Although there is always a lot for students to learn in CTE classes, not all of them are strictly limited to classroom settings or traditional methods of learning. In addition to the typical course structures that students are used to, some CTE courses also offer certification programs and work-based opportunities to continue learning outside of the classroom.
