At the CIE Foundation Trades Day, students from Forney ISD and across the region are engaged in hands-on learning experiences. Alongside these students are companies committed to investing in the next generation of the construction workforce.
Hosted annually by the Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF) in Forney, this event offers practical experiences in a variety of construction-related trades and occupations. These include general construction, engineering, heavy equipment operation, and more.
Designed to introduce local students to various career opportunities, Trades Day provides them with the chance to participate in exciting activities such as practicing welding, mixing cement, and learning how to operate heavy equipment. These hands-on experiences allow students to develop valuable skills that can set them on a path toward successful careers.
Through direct interactions with industry professionals, Trades Day aims to inspire students to consider pursuing professions in the construction field. This event is part of a broader initiative by CIEF to address workforce shortages and promote vocational and technical education across multiple locations. They strive to ensue that the next generation is equipped with the skills needed to thrive in these essential industries.
