At Windsong Elementary School in Friendswood ISD, second graders recently engaged in the Alpha-to-the-End program, which emphasizes inclusiveness with a themed exploration of the letter ‘i’. The day began with inclusive videos, followed by Quest classes where students explored new materials and activities within their second-grade POD. Ms. Starkey, an ASD teacher, contributed by discussing Autism and sharing insights into the autism experience.
Alpha-to-the-End is part of Windsong Elementary School’s initiative to promote diversity and inclusion among students. The program explores topics alphabetically, with a particular focus on inclusiveness during this session.
Friendswood ISD is committed to delivering a high-quality education that meets the diverse needs of its student body through specialized programs such as QUEST (Life Skills Support) and ASD Support (Acquiring Social Development).
The QUEST program empowers students across all grade levels by teaching essential functional skills through small-group interactions and community-based learning. Meanwhile, ASD Support addresses the unique needs of students on the autism spectrum by teaching replacement behaviors and social skills in small group settings, fostering skill generalization in natural environments.
