Southwest ISD offers Pre-K thru 12 Aeronautical STEM Program.
Southwest ISD provides students first-hand experience and exposure to new opportunities within the aviation industry in a groundbreaking Aeronautical STEM program.
During the 2018-2019 school year, Bob Hope Elementary School will implement a 5th grade aerospace curriculum with participation from the Blue Sky Educational Foundation and the highly acclaimed Blue Sky Program.
There is also outside of the classroom learning experiences for 8th graders at Resnik Middle School and Southwest High School students.
Grants to Southwest High School will allow for teacher training of Aircraft Owner and Pilot Association (AOPA) materials in Maryland, and The Dee Howard Foundation and its community partners, and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) has already begun working with students on an anticipated two-year program to build an RV-12iS aircraft.

New Member District Information

Our San Antonio-area Independent School Districts serve 340,238 students. Our school zones are broken up into ISDs (school districts).

The districts cover Bexar, the Hill Country, Comal, and Wilson counties.

Principals, teachers, counselors, nurses, and maintenance are a few of the roles working together to create an environment that is safe and supportive. Academics and extracurricular clubs provide opportunities to all students with varying interests and skill levels.
