By being respectful, responsible, and safe, students of Starkey Elementary School in Kerrville ISD earned enough points to participate in their first PBIS incentive. Students shared heartwarming excitement as they got to enjoy popsicles and have fun on the playground!
Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework that is structured to improve and integrate all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. They are funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs and the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education.
The Center on PBIS is an important framework where students can feel valued and connected to the school community. PBIS incentive supports schools, districts, and states to build emotional and behavioral support systems and improves social and academic outcomes for all students.
