Edgewood police officers are not only busy protecting our students and staff on campus, but they also volunteer their time year-round to give back to the community they serve.
The EISD annual police Thanksgiving drive is always a success. Officers provide full thanksgiving meals to 250 Edgewood Families. They also make about 90 traffic stops and give out turkeys instead of tickets to anyone with a moving violation!
Officers hold their Annual Toy drive during the holidays to make sure Edgewood children have something to open on Christmas!
In another partnership with local businesses like San Antonio Threads and Eagles Flight Advocacy & Outreach, the EISD police department helped graduating seniors from Edgewood Fine Arts Academy receive a few items to help with their transitions into post secondary education.
Edgewood ISD police partnered with Roland’s Shoe Rack Inc for a shoe giveaway. Roland’s donated 300 pairs of shoes to Edgewood students. The students were visited by Santa where he gave them each their wrapped shoes.
Picnic with the Police is an Edgewood community event held so that families can meet the officers that protect their schools.
Edgewood police officers continue education by attending classes like Standard response training.
Community policing at its finest. One Edgewood officer stopped by LBJ elementary for a foot patrol of the campus. He paused his route to pass the ball for a minute with the students.
