The Judson ISD Special Olympics team, the Thunder-Rockets, had many accomplishments this past year.
Amy Paul works for Judson ISD as a District Adaptive PE Teacher and the Head of Delegation for the Judson ISD Special Olympics Thunder-Rockets Program. She also coaches with Spurs Sports Academy camps and Spurs Inclusive Sports League.
This summer, Amy and two of her students were a part of Team Texas during the USA Games, where they were ambassadors for the state attending conferences and events, conducting interviews, and networking with figures such as Special Olympics Chairman Tim Shriver; Emma Broyles, Miss America, and Chris Nikic, the first individual with Down Syndrome to finish an Ironman Triathalon.
Amy and her students won the bronze medal at the Special Olympics USA! Locally, they won the gold medal at the State Flag Tournament in Mont Belvieu, TX. Excited about the future, they are preparing for the Special Olympics Winter Games.
