Harlandale ISD Terrell Wells MS students were paid a visit by 4WARD who supplied them with basketball shoes and an unforgettable experience! The girls were elated as they each received their very own pair of uniquely styled Nike shoes. Aside from the new addition to their wardrobe, the girls had a chance to meet and mingle with the founder of 4WARD and The Coyote, San Antonio Spurs’ official mascot.
4WARD is a non-profit fundraiser established by Rian Forestier who is in her Senior year at Brandeis High School Basketball and SA’s Finest AAU team in San Antonio, Texas. Rian had a sad realization after learning one of her teammates, and close friend, would quit basketball. Rian found out her friend had been teased about her shoes and no longer wanted to play basketball because of it. Without hesitation Rian took action and with the help of her mother started the 4WARD non-profit. 4WARD Allows female athletes to be able to play basketball in the proper shoes which will minimize injury, raise self-esteem, and inspire girls to continue playing the game. Rian’s passion for helping those in need will give her community the opportunity to follow their basketball dreams with zero regrets.
