Edgewood ISD Hosts Community Market Day
Edgewood ISD’s Perales Elementary School hosted a Market day in collaboration with the American Heart Association and Big Fresh Market Box to make fresh ingredients more accessible to the Edgewood community.
What is a Market Day?
The market included a variety of vegetables that were priced from $1-$3. The market was open to students attending the Elementary school, as well as families within the community. Students were each given a voucher for $5 to use at the market and purchase the food they wanted. Overall, the market was an opportunity for Perales Elementary School to reach out to their community and provide reasonably priced vegetables to families in need, and in doing so, promote healthy habits!
