The spirit of exploration runs deep in the Clear Creek Independent School District, a Texas suburban public school district within the vicinity of the NASA Johnson Space Center.
This A+ rated school district provides a high quality education to students in pre-k through 12th grade. CCISD offers early childhood for students who qualify under federal regulations as well as tuition-based pre-kindergarten. Several elementary schools have enrichment programs from STEM, STEAM, Foreign Language Immersion and Stephen Covey’s Leader in Me (adapted from the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People).
Clear Creek ISD has four intermediate schools that operate in a school-within- a-school model to meet the needs of gifted learners as well as science enthusiasts.
Students have options to attain a high school diploma and even a college degree in CCISD. The school district has five comprehensive high schools and two alternative high schools. Students can earn credit online, in the evenings and at a local college or university. CCISD is home to a nationally recognized Early College High School where students simultaneously earn a high school diploma and college
Students, teachers, principals, and staff along with business, parents, and residents contribute to a community culture.
School board meetings are considered public and subject to the Act, as they engage in the public’s business and their meetings are considered regular, special, called meetings.
Dr. Greg Smith
Dr. Eric Williams became the Clear Creek Independent School District Superintendent of Schools in January 2021. Dr. Williams previously served as superintendent of Loudon County Public Schools, a high performing school district of approximately 82,000 students, 13,000 employees, and $1.3 billion budget in Leesburg, Virginia. Williams has more than 28 years in education, spanning from a social studies teacher in Virginia and an English teacher in Brazil to a high school principal in Florida and superintendent in two school districts in Virginia.
In his tenure as a superintendent, Dr. Williams has earned a reputation of being an innovative instructional leader, an effective and engaging communicator, and a person with a servant heart and a student-centered mindset. He has a keen awareness of developing the whole child and a deep belief in developing student agency and empowering all students to make meaningful contributions.
Dr. Williams educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in education from The College of William and Mary, a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University and a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Boston University. He is married with two grown children.
