Royal ISD welding students represented Royal in numerous welding competitions and build off events.
The Texas High School Welding Series holds the events in partnership with industry partners including employers and manufacturers in the welding industry. At each event the students compete against 300 to 500 students from all over the state of Texas for top prizes, scholarships, and placings. The biggest benefit is the students’ ability to test for an industry-based certification (IBC) in front of a certified welding inspector (CWI).
The Texas High School Welding Series develops the technical and employability skills necessary in today’s youth for tomorrow’s welding industry. Its events include hosting welding certification events all over Texas. Students of all skill levels are challenged to improve ability and increase the desire to pursue a career in welding. Industry professionals team up with educational leaders to create these one-of-a-kind events to raise the bar for students. The TXHSWS and its Board of Directors work to increase opportunities for students to be college and career ready in the welding industry.
