RFISD’s Randolph Elementary hosted a summer Camp Invention for rising K-5 students. It is an enriching program designed to inspire and cultivate diverse STEM talent. Supported by the Department of Defense (DoD) through its investment in STEM education, outreach, and workforce development, the camp aligns with the DoD’s commitment to fostering future innovators. Additionally, funding from the district enables 170 students to participate in hands-on STEM activities. Forty-eight dedicated student volunteers from the secondary campus provide guidance.

Moreover, the National Inventors Hall of Fame (NIHF) collaborates with the DoD’s Defense STEM Education Consortium (DSEC). Together, they bring this opportunity to life. The National Inventors Hall of Fame inspires creators and entrepreneurs through education programs. They also honor the history of innovation through their museum and Hall of Fame Inductees. Their programs combine fun and creativity with STEM concepts. Consequently, this provides a dynamic learning experience for young students.

Over 60,000 works in more than 200 DoD laboratories and centers. Thus, the DoD plays a crucial role in advancing technology and innovation. These professionals contribute to programs like Camp Invention. Ultimately, they ensure the next generation is prepared to continue the legacy of innovation.
