North East ISD proudly distributed an impressive 85,000 weekend ‘Snack Paks’ to students, with plans underway to distribute another 20,000 for summer school. This proactive approach ensures ongoing access to nutritious food during the summer break, supporting student well-being and academic readiness.
However, food insecurity remains a significant barrier to learning, impacting children across all zip codes. Through a valuable partnership with Snack Pak 4 Kids San Antonio, 22 NEISD schools provide high-quality snacks weekly. Therefore, enhancing student focus and learning readiness through essential nutrition.

Teachers and staff at NEISD play a pivotal role in identifying students who would benefit most from the Snack Pak program. They discreetly place these packs in students’ backpacks each Friday, ensuring support without drawing attention to their circumstances.

Volunteers are essential to the success of the Snack Pak program. They gather weekly at the Snack Pak Warehouse to assemble and deliver bags to schools. While most snacks are carefully selected, monthly donations of 18 oz. creamy peanut butter jars through the Peanut Butter Bowl fundraiser contribute significantly to this effort.
Overall, through collaborative efforts of volunteers, staff, and community partners, NEISD ensures students are nourished and prepared to excel, embodying #theNEISDway.
