Slidell ISD participates in project-based learning by implementing their official 4Core & Focus Friday! The concept involves countless hours organizing and preparing activities and lessons that will make a positive impact on students’ educational experiences. Some past activities included Texas history lessons, environmental projects, an interactive presentation with a police officer, and a visit from the Slidell Fire Department.
This Focus Friday had elementary students read the same book and break into groups to participate in engaging activities while discussing story elements. Secondary students were able to build a map, create origami butterflies, create batteries out of different resources, and more!
Slidell ISD teachers are dedicated to help students explore their interests and foster creativity with their peers. These Fridays are a way to focus on developing critical thinking skills and provide memorable learning experiences.
