Fort Sam Houston ISD Celebrates Achievements

Fort Sam Houston ISD recently enjoyed an exciting week packed with student achievements and community spirit. Alongside an array of exciting activities, students took part in a College and Career Fair. There they explored future pathways and engaged in hands-on experiences with representatives from colleges, trade schools, and various industries. This valuable opportunity allowed students to interact directly with professionals, giving them insights into careers they might pursue after graduation.

Highlighting the week, Ashlynn Sokolowski, a 12-year-old from Robert G. Cole Middle School, took first place in the 10th annual MLK Student Art Contest. Ashlynn’s artwork, chosen from over 40 submissions, will represent San Antonio at the 38th MLK March in January. Her piece beautifully reflects the theme “We Are the Dream… It Takes All of Us,” celebrating diversity, unity, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s vision.

Adding to the community spirit, students and teachers across the district wore pink to support Pink Out Month, raising awareness for breast cancer and standing together for a meaningful cause.
