ECISD Provides Students Enriching Fun in Summer Camp Programs
East Central ISD students have fun and get educated in summer camp programs.
Summer camps can be both fun and educational, and East Central ISD proved that to be true with two of their summer camp programs.
Junior Space ranger camp provides an opportunity for students to learn about each of the planets in the solar system through STEM activities, arts and crafts and even yoga. Led by Kimberly Robinson, former high school chemistry and astronomy teacher, elementary school students from ECISD and surrounding areas used different foods such as oreos, marshmallows, and pretzel sticks to recreate different planets and constellations. Students also used yoga to showcase different phases of the moon.
Superstar camp was created to keep the student’s mind and body active while providing instruction and enriching activities in math and reading.. Students visited the McNay Art Museum to check out the duck pond and various different pieces of art. They also read several different books and ate different kinds of breakfast foods from around the world.
