ENRICHING ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
Dr. Robert A. Jaklich
From his first day as interim superintendent of San Antonio ISD, the walls of Dr. Robert A. Jaklich’s office have reflected the children of his district. Photographs of students he serves greet him everyday – eyes lit with curiosity, brows furrowed in concentration, and smiles of competitors on the fields, courts and music halls – these images are a heartfelt reminder of the endless possibilities within every child, every classroom, every day.
Dr. Jaklich, warmly known as Dr. J, fully embraces providing all students a dynamic K-12 educational experience that engages each student to be lifelong learners and contributing members of society. He is known for his leadership in transforming schools so that children in his district have the opportunity to meet their maximum potential, and for the vision to ensure the transformation is sustainable.
Dr. Jaklich’s focus is students’ academic and professional growth so that they thrive in school and beyond. His goals are to enhance early childhood education for the district’s youngest learners and further enrich Advanced Placement opportunities, dual credit offerings, Career and Technical Education programs, and SAT and ACT preparation for its older learners. Dr. Jaklich also encourages greater access and exposure to the arts, music, athletics, and UIL-sponsored programs and competitions that develop children emotionally, mentally and physically.
